A Message From Heather

If you’re here, chances are your child, or teen, is going through something really hard. Maybe they’re struggling with anxiety that keeps them up at night.

Maybe depression is stealing their joy. Maybe school has become a daily battle, or your family is trying to heal after loss.

And for some families, there’s another layer of pain: when a child has been impacted by a parent’s or family member’s substance use. That can bring confusion, fear, and even shame into their world.

Kids in these situations often feel like they have to keep secrets, take on adult responsibilities too soon, or navigate emotions they don’t understand.

Hi, I’m Heather Shure, a Licensed Professional Counselor here at Bloom Child Therapists. As a parent, I know you want your child to be happy, confident, and resilient.

When big emotions and hard situations get in the way, it’s easy to feel powerless and unsure how to help. But you are not alone, and your child doesn’t have to carry this alone either.

My role is to be a safe, steady guide, helping your child make sense of what they’re feeling and giving them tools to cope, heal, and grow.

For children and teens affected by a loved one’s substance use, I provide a place where they can be honest without fear, learn to separate their identity from the chaos around them, and develop healthy ways to navigate relationships and emotions.

I use proven, evidence-based approaches to help children and teens put words to what’s been unspoken, rebuild hope, and develop healthy ways to handle life’s challenges.

When we work together, I’m not just supporting your child, I’m partnering with you. You’ll have insight into their progress and a clear path forward.

Because the truth is: your child’s story is still being written. And with the right support, the next chapters can be filled with growth, resilience, and joy.
